Must See TV !!!!!! (I don't advocate much TV viewing)

Apr 15, 2005 12:38AM PDT

If you think John Ashcroft went too far.
If you don?t like the Patriot Act.
If you think President Bush?s administration is too secretive.
If you think President Bush had secret war plans.

Watch this show, it will reveal FDR for who he really was.

You mean you're too late for the heavenly group DR?

That's a shame. I guess Jesus got first claim on the real estate eh? You know, He said He is building a place for His people to come and be with Him. The last I heard, He didn't limit the count to 144,000. However, I understand He's not accepting applications from those who reject His claims. It was an open ended promise. Perhaps you should reconsider, and accept His offer. It sounds a lot better than what the Watchtower is offering.

but, if God commands all His angels to worship Him, He

must be..... Oh my God!

The first commandment!

Ex 20:5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
NIV

Whew! Thank God for verse 8. We almost had a problem Houston:

Heb 1:8-9

8 But about the Son he says,

"Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever,
and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy." NIV

asked. I also think that telling you what I think Paul would say about Jehovah's Witnesses would violate the TOS.

You still haven't told us where the Bible says that Jesus is the archangel Michael. This is in contradiction to who the Bible says that Jesus is. He is the Lord (Yahweh), the Word (who is God) who became flesh and dwelt among us; the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End (remember Revelation?), God Almighty (Revelation and Thomas's confession). All of this has been documented for you DR, and you have yet to adequately answer it.

I hope that someday you will see, and respond to the truth. Wink

Between the one post and another

I decided you're no longer worth the time. Mt 7:6.
Any bible research I do, any conversation I have, has at least selfish value to me, I enjoy it, and it's part of Jehovah's purpose. 1 Tim 4:16; Rev 14:6,7.
But my Lord Jesus doesn't want me spending time where there is no present hope of finding a hearing ear. Isa 6:9,10; Lu 9:5.
Example: James J. asked a pointed, useful, and 'difficult' (IHO) question, which I answered. I even turned it into a more pointed one I've heard often in the last 20 years. Fully 3/4 of the answer was just copy/paste from the bible- your bible. Your reply? 'My idea is better than what the Watchtower promises.'

Very revealing: A plain bible teaching that doesn't agree with your own opinions is "Watchtower." And your thinking about us is as sloppy as your bible thinking. You tell me that 'Russell and Rutherford did such-and-such in 1931.' Even the pagans at Google know Russell died in 1916. Now you tell me, seriously or not, 'Back off or I'll call the cops!' My reply: 'The number you want is 9-1-1.'

Another unasked question: 'Don't you people preach to get "converts?"'
A. No, our goal is to conduct progressive bible studies. [quote/unquote] 'No one comes to the Father except through Jesus- not Doug.'
The teaching about the Archangel Michael requires more progessive thinking than you've shown yourself capable of. I suspect developing world events will change you- like Paul changed going to Damascus- but 'your time left is reduced.' 1 Cor 7:29.

Insults are not a wise thing. However, as long as you try to convert people here by saying things that the Bible does not support, I will weigh in attempting to point out your error. I welcome debate on these points, but, so far, you usually don't respond. Anyway, who knows? Someday, something might even get through to you or me. I'm certainly as susceptible to error as you are. However, I'm not being taught erroneous doctrines every week.

Can you supply the link where I said 'Russell and Rutherford did such-and-such in 1931'? No? How did I know that? You rarely provide answers to back up your statements, or to refute mine. What I probably alluded to is the history of the Watchtower.

Jehovah's Witnesses, also known as the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society (with headquarters in Brooklyn, New York), was officially founded in 1884 [as the Zion's Watch Tower and Tract Society (originally the Zion's Watch Tower in 1879), officially adopting the name of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1931], by Charles Taze Russell (1852-1916). In 1870, Russell was exposed to the teachings of William Miller, one of the founders of the Second Adventist Movement and acquired an interest in end time prophecies. Russell originally denied the doctrine of Hell, and would go on to reject nearly every other Christian doctrine, as well as add many physically and spiritually dangerous doctrines of his own making. Many of these unique and bizarre teachings were to be found in his six volume series titled, Studies in the Scriptures...

Not only has the name of this cult been changed time and again, but they also change their doctrines regularly -- between 1917 and 1928, they changed their doctrines 148 times! (Prior to 1931, Jehovah's Witnesses had also gone by the names of Millennial Dawn, People's Pulpit Association, The Brooklyn Tabernacle, and the International Bible Students Association.) Russell died in 1916 and was replaced by the second president, Joseph F. Rutherford. "A process of replacing Russell's writings with Rutherford's began in 1921 with the publication of Rutherford's Harp of God. Between 1921 and 1941, Rutherford was to write twenty books and numerous pamphlets, which would slowly revise the doctrine and structure left him by Russell" (Encyclopedia of American Religions, G. Melton, Vol. 1, p. 485). One of Rutherford's books that caused a great amount of controversy was the seventh volume of the Studies in the Scriptures.

I guess it 'slipped' your mind that the Watchtower was controlled by Rutherford in 1931, when you focused our attention on Russell's death in 1916?

I liked a lot of what you said. Lots of creativity. This one for example; 'The teaching about the Archangel Michael requires more progessive thinking than you've shown yourself capable of' shows great talent.

Translation: The Bible does not support the idea that Jesus had been/was/is the Archangel Michael.

BTW, it might be a good idea to avoid answering unanswered questions. Just a suggestion.

Been thinking about this. Three depression era politicians
Apr 17, 2005 9:11AM PDT

on the side of the angels were pretty crafty pols. FDR, Stanley Baldwin (Britain) and the ultimate crafty (and weird) pol of all William Lyon Mackenzie King of Canada. King used to hold seances to contact his dead mother and his late pet dog in order to ask their advice. Maybe there was something in the air.

then of course, the weirdo to end all weirdo's, Adolf.

Both Stalin's and Benny the Moose's elections predate the Depression.

Not overly critical. Sympathetic mostly, but not fawning. One of the better documentaries on FDR I've seen.
