must i pay back an investment as well as givin a % of my biz

Hi all, ok so here is the deal. Im opening a restaurant in the uk and i have an investor who is willing to give me 200,000 pounds BUT he wants the 200,000pounds paid back to him AND 50% of the business. I think his investment just gets him a 50% right or does he get both? Please help

You'll just have to pay it back with interest, and of course use the business as collateral in case it doesn't go well. Venture capitalist do make the bucks sometimes, but he's asking way too much.
