Given the details about your machine, make, model, etc. I can't comment.
But your test would indicate a bad card but then again it could be onboard and a driver issue. But that lack of detail hampers me writing that's it.

there are stray pixel spots of different colors on my lcd, so i switched to crt and the stray pixel spots are still the same.
Another q i had was there is a 12v molex connector on the mobo, and it was by the pci-e slot, should there be a connector plugged in there? and since it is not would that damage the VGA or mobo or both?
