music skips

i burn alot of music cds and for the most part i have no problems but for some reason lately when i burn a cd the first 10 or 11 songs on the cd are fine but the songs after that seem to crack and skip or not come out at all. when i play the songs on my comp. from the files they sound great but when i play them in my cd player in the car the last few songs on the cd skip or break up, like i said is usually the 10th or 11th song and all after that i made a cd that contained 17 songs and only the first 10 came out good. am i putting to many songs on one cd? or is it the quality of the cds? they paly great on my comp. thank you

It's usually the CDRW drive or the media.

Try this. Drop the recording rate to 2X and retest. If it works you have an aging drive or so-so media.

I have found that when the CD gets hot in the car CD player (after about 10 songs) I get skipping and distortion which I do not get when I play the same CD on my CD ROM or home CD Player. Also, I found that if I burn my music to data CDs and not music CDs that I encounter this issue as well. The Music CDs appear to tolerate the heat better.
