Perform the procedure noted at http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hwdev/tech/storage/IDE-DMA.mspx to ensure DMA is enabled.
Let us be clear that LOOKING at the settings does not ensure it's enabled! If you fail to perform this procedure, then it's too possible it's not in DMA mode.

Whan I open programs on my notebook(explorer, outlook...) music stops an resumes, glitches (probably not the apropriate word but you get it), both on media player and winamp 5? At first I though it was the memory but I have 224ddr and the problem started a few days ago i think? help
