DMA procedure completed, then move to Pests and Parasites.

Many of the known Pests and Parasites that Antivirus programs ignore since "its not a virus" do interfere with machine operation. Before we jump off there, your post is lacking in details about the network connections.

1. Offline shares affect you.

If I setup a share to another machine and the machine is offline/unreachable, then your machine may pause every so many minutes as it tries to connect.

2. A printer status checking software can impact a machine.

Some newer printers give a near realtime feedback on paper, ink and printing status. Such will soak a machine and an effect on music playback has been noted.

Fix? Turn off printer monitoring.

3. PESTS AND PARASITES.

http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=1313&start=0 notes the five tools with CWSHREDDER moving to http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html

I turned off file and printer sharing under lan properties. My lan conections are disabled. Is there something else I should do. The control panel>printers reports a printer conected on the comp i was conected to on lan!!! I tried ad aware and it remowed a lot of spyware. Is that program enough? The situation isnt better the music still glitches. I am desperate!!!

Tell what's been done.

I can't tell if all 5 tools were used, or if the machine ever worked proper.

I'd love to find it, but your posts seem a little light.

I decided to bring up a sistem restore point from a few days ago, and it solved the problem!
The weird thing is that you were right. It was the DMI setings, I tried to change them whan you told me and I couldnt, but whan I used sistem restore, the pio mode on primary Ide changed to ultra dmi ????
Why did that happend?
Thank you

Try versus do or done.

The DMA issue is still the most common cause of your complaint. But even with the article on hand, many either won't perform the procedure (they look, but don't do it) or they can't get the hang of the drop down boxes and the ok buttons. Yes, it's a little hard on the user, but its cheaper than a trip to the repair shop.

In closing, I wish you had shared it was in PIO mode...
