I don't care if Murtha ends up being right
May 18, 2006 7:55PM PDT

If this "leak" was against the West Memphis Three you would be claiming it was wrongly prejudicing the case.

Murtha should know better than to prejudge like this. He is a disgrace.

Murtha Needs To Be Drummed Out Of The Corps
May 18, 2006 10:25PM PDT
?U.S. Rep. John P. Murtha has dedicated his life to serving his country both in the military and in the halls of Congress. He had a long and distinguished 37-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring from the Marine Corps Reserve as a Colonel in 1990?? From Rep. Murtha?s Official Bio

This recent act of Murtha?s is a disgrace, and he needs to be drummed out of the Corps. I do not call Colonel Murtha performing in the role as Press Conference Monkey for the Democrats as being either ?distinguished? or bearing true faith and allegiance to the Corps.

The investigation will run its legal course. We will learn ?the truth,? good or bad, when all the facts are laid out. Any Marine Colonel who bails out on THE TROOPS before a proper formal UCMJ judgment is made, as Rep. Murtha has done, is no ?Always Faithful,? Semper Fi Marine. The only thing Murtha is faithful to is his reelection, and the political agenda of the Democrats.

Murtha is clearly a politico dressed in Marine Green who wraps himself in the Flag whenever it suits his and the Democratic Party?s political purposes.

Top Marine general cautions on becoming "indifferent to the loss of a human life".

>> "We do not employ force just for the sake of employing force. We use lethal force only when justified, proportional and, most importantly, lawful," Gen. Michael W. Hagee, the Marine Corps commandant, wrote in a statement issued by his office. Aides said it was the basis of remarks he intended to make to Marines in Iraq this week.

Hagee headed for Iraq just hours after the disclosure of a criminal investigation into allegations that an unspecified number of Marines killed an Iraqi civilian west of Baghdad on April 26.

It is the second allegation of Marines killing civilians in recent months.

"Many of our Marines have been involved in life or death combat or have witnessed the loss of their fellow Marines, and the effects of these events can be numbing," Hagee said in his statement. "There is the risk of becoming indifferent to the loss of a human life, as well as bringing dishonor upon ourselves." <<
