Since you ask: "Why more than 1 partition?" I think it should be pointed out that having several Operating Systems on the same machine usually requires multiple partitions.
For support reasons I have 4 different systems on my machine:
and Linux, can't use the FAT32/NTFS file system of Windows, so my systems require at least 2 different partitions, But for organizanional reasons I have over 20 partitions (spread over 3 harddisks with around 400 GB total)
I have used Partition Magic ever since it first appeared as a cheap shareware utility from Powerquest around 1996, and can confirm that it is a very stable program, that has caused me few problems. But the price has become a bit stiff after Symantec bought it from Powerquest - and they don't seem to put much effort into maintaing and developing it, compared to what I got used to from the "inventor", Powerquest.
But there are other, cheaper partition managers out there also. Such as "PARTITION MANAGER 2005"($29) (http://www.7tools.de/pm/index.htm), I have never tried that one though.
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
