If it's just a mechanical issue why not some sheet metal cut or another short cable?
I have a somewhat older desktop that I want to attach multiple monitors to - 1 VGA and 1 with VGA or DVI..
I got what I think/thought was a Y splitter that would allow for an extended desktop. Unfortunately all it does is duplicate the monitor onto the other. My display properties does not give the option for extended view. It doesnt recognize the 2nd monitor.
The desktop is a small form factor so there isnt much room inside. It has a side riser that has two PCI slots. I got a VisionTek ATi Radeon 7000 64 MB DDR2 PCI Graphics Card from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00064GAYK/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but unfortunately the VGA connector is too close to the edge of the card opening for the cable to connect. It has to be in that position in order for the riser to be in its PCI slot on the motherboard.
Short of getting another desktop, which I am seriously considering but aside from this issue dont need, what other way can I connect multiple monitors? KVM? USB? Did I buy a splitter and not a multiple monitor cable?
Id really like to connect 3 monitors (extended desktop), but Ill be Ok with 2.
