General discussion

multiple media players

May 24, 2005 8:17PM PDT

I plan on doing a lot of DV and photo editing. I am just scratching the surface right now. I have Pinnacle Studio and Photoshop Elements on my computer, as well as some others. I have at least 3 separate DVD/CD writers and media players on my computer; they came with the software. (Media PLayer, Pinnacle "instant write" product, and Nero 6). I have no idea if I need all these or if I should use one and ignore the others? Will they conflict? At a loss on this one. Any help much appreciated!

I have multiple programs

for photo/video editing and CD/DVD burning. I use them for different tasks. I have plenty of room and memory for multiple programs to be installed. If one fails or can't do the job I want, I have alternatives from which to choose.

you may find that as one media player doesn't play your media files very well, another one may do.

I use WMP 9, WMP 6/7, (the old version wmp), DivX Player and Zoom Player. They do not conflict with each other, but of course, you wouldn't try to play the same file on more than one at the same time.
