Multiple Issues Windows XP SP3

by ancalagonm / September 6, 2009 4:07 AM PDT

Hi all,

I am having several issues with my Windows XP SP3. I am trying to fix these issues so that I can avoid completely reformating my computer. These are the current issues that I have encountered:

Unable to Log into personal username - always goes to default log on

Unable to install programs - says that there is an error in the setup

In order to turn off computer I have to hit the shut down button several times before it actually shuts down

Unable to get the right-click menu on the start button

If anyone has any ideas on how to remedy these issues, I could use the help. Thanks in advance!

Many use TWEAKUI to customize which account automatically logs on. Why not use that to set it or disable that?

The install issues are not detailed enough to start so I'll pass on that subject.

The turn off computer. Tell a little more. Does Start, Shutdown work?

Your computer is asking to be re-formatted. But here are some things you can try. Download a program called TweakUI play around with the logon setting I don't have it on my PC right now, matter of fact it doesn't work on Windows 7 x64. As for unistalling google Revo Unistaller as for your mouse is something wrong with your mouse? Try hotswapping another mouse ans see if its the problem or you can try using of those options for the disabled and control your mouse with the keyboard using the num lock keys. As I've said before just format there's too much crazyiness with Microsoft.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
