you have dozens of bogus DLLs loaded on your system. at the very least, you are infected with viruses and spyware, several of each or more. you will have to boot from a Norton or McAfee antivirus CD and clean your system out. even then, you're likely to be left with an unusable system. a clean install from your restore disk is your best option, but that will wipe everything from your computer.
My computer has been limping for the past few months and I'm hoping someone can help me.
I have a Compaq Presario with Win98.
I can only run Outlook Express and Netscape6. Anytime I try and open anything else, I get an error that pops up and reads explorer in the heading, not IE Explorer.
Let's say I click on My Documents. The error pops up 17 times in a row before the program will open.
Here is a rundown of what I have so far.
a required MSVBVM60.dll file was not found
And last but not least, the ever popular KERNEL32.dll
I've tried to use my restore disc but it won't load, however other discs, such as Printmaster will load.
I called Compaq last week but they couldn't help me, but they did manage to lighten my wallet by 40 bucks! And that was after I had 4 online chats with their technicians. They had me download a startup disc which I already have.
If anyone can help me I would be forever grateful.
