Question

Multimedia Producer

Apr 3, 2012 4:06AM PDT

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, if not please direct me to the right place since I am new to this field.

I'd like to make a career change as a Multimedia Producer and I am looking for schools that offer certificate programs. I live in the NY area and I have a BS in Communications which I acquired several years ago. I've stayed in the media field (somewhat) but more on the administrative end. Also, any recommendations on what programs I should learn? I'm not opposed to taking random classes that don't lead to a certificate or degree.

Thanks so much!

Start doing it.

Read http://kleiman.ning.com/profiles/blogs/quantity-vs-quality and we see that part of the process is doing the work. As you do more, you get better.

This is an art and not a cake recipe. Yes there are courses in such but I found most of them to be courses on how to use Adobe software.

At our office which is a group of hardware and software authors our multimedia is custom stuff. Hard to describe but to say it's an orchestrated network presentation is best.

A few useful links.

Hi Dee003,

I found some links which I think might worth checking before you enroll anywhere :

http://www.rit.edu/programs/interactive-multimedia-development

My personal suggestion would be Vancouver Film School , in case that you are willing to relocate. It's one of the best Multimedia and Animation schools in the world as many of their graduates worked on the famous blockbuster movies such as Hanna, District 9 etc.

District 9 a block buster?

The rumor I heard is that it was to salvage work done on the Halo movie.
