Multi Task Printer for family

Jan 25, 2007 6:26AM PST

I have had a Canon Multipass F20 for the past 3 years. It has begun to jam upon insertion of paper...never had the problem prior and no obvious cause . I am not sure if it is worth bringing it in for repair.

So now I am looking for recommendations for a replacement printerphotocopierscanner for family usage.

I would really like the replacement machine to be able to photocopy and scan legal size.

So I was about to purchase the reasonably priced Canon MP530 based on a CNET? review...I got the impression from the review that it could accomodate legal size for scanning and copying but the Canon website doesnt show this ability Sad.

Thanks for your advice.

Today's printers are cheaper than any trip to the repair shop so my thought here is to get the same/newer version of that Canon since it worked well for you.

I agree I will replace. But my F20 isnt able to legal size scan or copy. Any recommendations for such a beast? For example can the MP530 accomodate legal paper re scanning and copying?

Scan legal in a multitask for family use
Jan 25, 2007 11:17PM PST

Thanks Bob. Looking at The Canon site it shows on the specifications page under "Scanner":

Max. Document Size: 8.5" x 11.7" maximum Sad.

I have decided I dont really need fax capability but being able to scan and photocopy a legal document is necessary.

I believe that the scanner size is the size of the glass. The Canon MP 530 has the document feeder and you can scan with that as well as copy from that. I just purchased the MP 530 based off from a recommendation from the guys over at www.---------.com, and I love it, and wouldn't trade it for anything."

The link is hawk's company so it's being removed from all posts.
