Multi system Camcorders

May 25, 2006 9:35PM PDT

Hi,

I need to purchase a camcorder for my family back in India which primarily has PAL system instead of the usual NTSC asin the States. There were two models that I was considering; one DCR-SR100 of Sony and VDR D300 of Panasonic. WHile it is quite clearly mentioned in the specs of DCR-SR100 that it is an NTSC system Camcorder, it is not really mentioned in the Specs of VDR D300 whether it supports PAL system. I did read it somewhere it does support PAL but I am not too sure. So my one question was whether VDR D300 supports PAL. Secondly as such which is a better Camcorder in terms of Stills and videos. The Panasonic is a 3CCD camera with LIeca lens so as a homeuser it looks to be better, but surprisingly in none of the places this is written clearly. So maybe you can through some light on it.
