Oh goodness, I am soooo out of my league on this one and could really use some advice. My husband will be home from Iraq in a couple of weeks and he has asked me to research what kind of setup/configuration would be best "to get the job done" with what we have to work with.
Here's what we have:
? 3 VGA monitors (1 LG Flatron 22-ish inch; and 2 Proview 19-inch models)
? 1 HP Pavilion HDX18 laptop w/ custom upgrades from the factory, running Windows 7
? One great guy in Bagdad, with a penchant for online trading/Forex/etc. and watching football in his down-time
Here?s what we?d like:
In a nutshell, it would be great if we could find a way to connect all 3 monitors so that they will (1) handle the real-time online stock tickers/charts/etc. plus any/all of the other standard applications a person might use daily?simultaneously, cleanly and smoothly; (2) reliably drag/span apps between and across the monitors; and (3) have some versatility/flexibility for future upgrades to LCD/HD TVs (w/HDMI connections available)?a bunch of them?on the wall of his man-cave (when he?s home for good, that is, and we get the money/time/energy all together to build him a proper one. LOL But, for now, we?re working with just the 3)
Does someone, anyone, make a multi-VGA port adapter, and not just a 1 monitor/1 adapter set-up? Or are we just dreaming of really cool geeky things to come? Maybe USB graphics adapters aren?t what we need? Perhaps a fancy docking station, an external graphics card or is it some combo of the above? Are there wireless components available?
Hopefully the solution will not entangle my husband - or our puppy - in miles of cable, require an upgrade to our electrical panel, or make us have to rob a bank! LOL Thanks so much for any suggestions you might have on what we can do or where I might look further.
