C:W98,D:XP--a few days ago I noticed that when I ran Adaware on XP that it would not update or finish the scan run and stopped after identifying the spyware and was to remove it, it would stop at quarantine. Tried and finally removed Adaware and got spyhunter which found the items and removed them. Then when I went into ie my home page is excite and it would find only a few graphic items on the page. Also now I cannot not get into system restore and the help search section on the start bar,all other things run on that start bar. When I run sfc /scannow it runs all the way through and then just closes and says nothing. Also on other websites and on certain hot links when u hit enter nothing happens. It also has hung up a couple of times and had to do a warm start-reset, and goes through chkdsk on the D: drive.Somewhere in all this I felt it might be something to do with Norton 2004 systemworks and I uninstalled it using their instructions.Everything works fine on the W98 side and all links work so I know it is in XP,as I ran sfc on the w98 and it was fine.Would like to repair XP somehow but not sure how at this point--any suggestions--Thanx Gerald
