I have no idea what you're talking about (yet), but at least it's something concrete to look up in the help index. Never worked with "sections" before, so I guess it's time I learned. Actually, I enjoy discovering new stuff like that (as long as I have some idea what I'm looking for). So, again, thanks for knowing the answer and pointing me at it.

In Word 2003 (and lower) it's Insert>Break, choose Section Break from the menu bar and there's the second section with it's own headers and footers and more properties.
Note the "same as previous section" button! If that's checked, your changes go back to the previous section.
