MSN Messenger Start UP

by billd49 / March 24, 2004 3:19 PM PST

Every time I use MSN Messenger it loads itself in Start up so next time I boot the computer it opens. I remove it and it's gone as long as I don't use the program. How can I keep it from loading in Start Up.

Windows XP

Thanks

Bill

How are you removing it from start-up? With msconfig?
I don't use it, so I can't tell you step by step, but somewhere in options or preferences in MSN Messenger itself, is a box to uncheck if you don't want it to load at start-up. Have you done that?

It will continue to do that each and every time you use the program. There is no way to stop it unless you remove/uninstall the program from your computer.

Bill,
You don't need to delete the program.
In your MSN IM, try clicking on the TOOLS menu, then choose OPTIONS, then the GENERAL tab. On that screen, uncheck the option to run MSN when Windows starts, and adjust the other options (like automatic sign-in).
Hope that works for you.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
