MSN Messenger for PC to phone

I have Windows 98SE , 256MB RAM,IE6. I have downloaded & am using MSN Messenger7 for PC to PC conversations (audio & video) between India & the US. I want to know if MSN Messenger also has a PC to phone service to call from my PC in India to a US phone number. If so, which version should I download? Will it run on Win98? Pl give the URL & all relevant details.

Is there any other cheap , reliable PC to phone service for calling a number in the US? It should run on Win98. I tried Yahoo version 8 but my system freezes everytime I try to download it. Also, I read in some user's forums that it has problems. Skype is supposed to be good but I think it requires Win2000 or XP.

I'm desperate to get an inexpensive PC2phone service . Please help!

The Overview tab of that referenced link has the following quote:

"*The ability to call telephones is a pay service provided by Verizon Web Calling service. Click to read more about this (you may be prompted to sign in using your Windows Live ID)."

Seems to me you need this added pay service for calling to a telephone number to work. I am no authority on this and there may be other services or ways to call free... do not know! I do know that Windows Live Messenger works well for chat and webcam between computers. Check some of the other Instant Messengers through Google to see if any offer what you want.
