the older version is 6.1.0207.

Thanks Marianna! I got the update from the link you cited yesterday but was a little confused about today's post and was not sure what update I had downloaded. All clear now and I now understand Microsoft's update procedure to the same version, in my case MSN Messenger 6.1.

.
