This clearly is some hardware issue. I'd try a new motherboard. If not the same model, you might need to do a clean reinstall of Windows. In such a case you can try to convince Microsofts install help line that there's no need to pay for a new license code, since it's the same computer.
Motherboard: MSI X99s Gaming 7
CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz Six Core
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 3000
So, I was playing a game when all of a sudden the screen starts to go black, then back to the game, then black indefinitely. I restart my computer. Upon restart, neither the mouse nor the screen turns on.
I look at the debug code: 00. Go to the MSI forum and troubleshoot. I am told to reset the CMOS; so, i do. I reset and then get the debug code: 04. In the manual it states this as "Power on South Bridge Initialization." No response from the monitor.
I reset and then get the 00 code again. So, I try to clear the CMOS once again. Except this time, it doesn't have any effect. I am still getting the 00 code. No response from the monitor.
This is just very frustrating and I am a novice when it comes to troubleshooting PCs (clearly). Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Lastly, I will include some other things that I noticed. One of the troubleshooting methods for the 00 code suggests switching to the other BIOS chip via the switch on the board. Whenever I did this, it didn't seem to affect anything. However, my RAM would flicker and make an electrical sound every second or so. I turned my PC off, switched to the first BIOS chip, and moved onto resetting the CMOS. I don't know if this is relevant, but wanted to include it anyway.
