Resolved Question

MSE - Computer Status Issue

Dec 13, 2011 1:53AM PST

I've been using MSE as my sole anti-virus program for a while. Lately, the tray icon turns orange and you get a warning: Computer status - Potentially Unprotected. I had been running a scheduled "full" scan on Sunday mornings but apparently that's not enough. I took to running a scan daily and that seemed to resolve the issue for a few days. This morning I ran a full scan and two hours after that scan competed and I received the warning, again. MSE v2.1.1116.0, engine v 1.1.7903.0, latest defs v1.117.982.0 Running windows xp pro sp3 with all the latest updates.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Eddie

Eddie..

Are you using CCleaner? If so, see the below.

You might also want to have a look at this thread at Piriform's CCleaner forum.

IF you're not using CCleaner, let us know.

I applied your solution immediately and it resolved the issue. I have not had an issue since I applied the fix regarding Ccleaner 'five' days ago.
Thanks again.
