using a 98 start-up disk, trying to reconfriger my hard disk.Unable to load winxp until I format my hard drive. How do I exit without losing the chances made by Fdisk. When I exit msdos, I lose my chances, Is there a command that will exit Dos with out losing new partitions. Thank you

Formating and XP

If you have the XP-CD, just boot from it and it'll ask you step by step if you want to keep the old operating system, install a new one, format partial, etc. Select full format at 100% partition and let XP do it's thing. If you're sure you'll not be going back to 98, this is a good time for format into NTFS and not FAT32
