MSConfig win XP Pro

Hi
I am unable to save any changes to msconfig or even close it after looking at it. I must use 'control-alt-del' then 'Task Manager' to turn msconfig off.
winxp pro - PcCillian - zone alarm . I can however use a third party software to change start up items (such as CodeStuff Starter).
any sugestions

thanks

Extract a new msconfig as presented in the following Msconfig and TroubleshootingTools in Windows XP page.

If after the extraction msconfig still hangs, restart in Safe Mode and try it there.

Also, run the tools from this Antiparasite Tools message.
