Ok suddenly I get the message that msconfd.dll is infected. I hadnt downloaded anything or gone to any new sites so I'm not sure where the infection came from.
Anyways I did a system scan. It found two or three infected files. It fixed the rest of them but wasnt able to do anything with msconfd.dll. I guess this is a active system file. Since I dual boot with win98 I loaded it up and manually deleted msconfd.dll.
Fortunately XP Still booted minus this file. Just now every time it loods I get a pop up message
RUNDLL
error loading E:\windows\system32\msconfd.dll
the specified module could not be found
OK
Anyone know what msconfd.dll is suppose to do? Is it important to get a replacement msconfd.dll? If so where can I get it? If not how can I stop getting this message everytime I boot XP?
