ms word - recently used files

Sep 4, 2004 3:58PM PDT

MS Word 2002
WinXP SP2

Under Tools > Options > General, the "Recently Used Files
List" option is grayed out. I do use TweakUI and under
Common Dialogs the option "Remember Previously Used
Filenames" is checked. How do I get Word 2002 to display
the Most Recently Used Files?

Always try the usual with Word. Delete the NORMAL.DOT files and try again.

Too vague a response. Some couldn't delete the files, others just tried and didn't find such.

In the end I just wipe off Word and reinstall. I didn't find a Microsoft or other answer to this one so it's possible that you get to reinstall or you have one of the new parasites that I'm seeing new behaviours with. Last week we found a BHO installed by PeoplePC's ISP to interfere with Internet Explorer and other functions... Your control of pests may be an issue.
