MS Publisher

I have a Dell Dimension2400 running Windows XP. I've been using Publisher for years on each new computer I've bought. All of a sudden, I get an odd message when I try to use 'merge'. I've uninstalled parts of it, tried to reinstall and can't seem to get by it. I have a gig of Ram and about 20 more gigs on my hard drive. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with 'shared' memory of which I know very little.

Hope someone can help me.

It was not funny that a major developer package would report out of memory or not enough memory at 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 GB RAM. I've seen this on a few other packages.

Other ideas are : Update the printer, video drivers.
