MS Outlook problems after importing email!

Nov 15, 2005 10:44AM PST

This is the problem that I have:

I had Office XP (2002) before reformatting the computer. I saved all my emails (both inbox and sent and contacts) through Genie Outlook Backup tolls, which was the only way I knew how to save them all.

I reformatted the computer and installed MS Office 2003. I use MS Outlook as my email client and I imported the emails from the Genie file. Now they are all in a folder (subfolder to the main folder in MS Outlook) called “Personal Folder”.

See images at: http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/3323/screenshot0012yo.jpg

When I try to write an email to one of my friends, I get the following message: http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/7452/screenshot0035vd.jpg

Anyone knows what to do? I want my email (the old ones, because the new ones I get go into the the new folder) to be part of the new ones!

A mess, I know!

Jimmy,

I think you can drag and drop the contents of the personal folder to the regular folders used by Outlook. Did you try that altready? What happens?

The other problem "Word not registered" seems totally unrelated. Try the last solution (registering ole32.dll) from http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/Q_20763285.html (it takes quite a few page downs to come there). If that doesn't help, try the one before that (registering ALL dll's with a batch file).

Hope this helps.

I did the registering of the *.dll file and that helped it all together. Sorry for not having gotten back before!

Thansk again
