MS Outlook e-mail file name

What is the file name that has all of my e-mail files in it. I want to restore my e-mail files.

You can't restore emails if they are still located in the original place on your harddrive. You can only import them if they are in a different location.

That said..If you know where they are located, you can open OE, click File, Import, Mail, Messages, and then browse to the that folder and click OK.

The file names all end with .DBX so you can go to FIND/SEARCH and do a search for *.DBX and you will see them all.

What you can then do is create a new folder on your desktop, click Edit in the Search window, choose Select All, and right drag the highlighted files to the folder you created (call it OLDMAIL), and choose COPY HERE. Then use THAT folder to browse to when you try to import them.

Js, That Depends...Outlook or Outlook Express

Indeed, if the e-mail client is Outlook Express, then Toni's uggestion of finding the various .dbx files is correct. If the e-mail client is Microsoft Outlook, then the messages and contacts are normally stored in the .pst file, typically the: "Outlook.pst" file.
