With virus, trojans, worms, spyware and all that's out there, it's clear your system has suffered damage.
-> You should try uninstalling then reinstalling the Office plus a run of Office update.
I'm running into many machines with such severe damage it's quicker to reinstall the OS and applications.

Hi, if anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it.
I cannot open any existing MS office documents; I've tried in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
When I open a Word file called ABC, for example, the computer will start up Word as per norm, but then will display within word and error message, "The file ABC is not available", then when I go to close Word, it comes up with a message The file Normal already exists. Do you want to replace the existing file.
Like wise fir Excel and Power Point, it comes up with a message saying "unable to read file", or "the path or file name is invalid".
I ran a virus scan and found I had a Trojan hoarse, Dropper.Generic.Ey, and after cleaning this file it did nothing, so I did a system restore back to the previous week, and this worked fine for a while. But then the MS office started to act up again. And now when I try to do a system restore, it comes up as being unsuccessful. Please try an other date, which I have and again was unable to restore.
My laptop is a dell inpsiron 8600. OS is XP serv pack 2. The MS Office is Office 2000, SP3.
