ms-dos mode on Windows ME

I have recently had Windows ME put on my computer and i tried to run a game i used before and it says that i need to exit windows before i can play it in ms-dos mode. I don't know how to start the computer in ms-dos mode without running windows therefore i can't play my game. As the game is quite old it requires ms-dos mode to run.
I have tried everything to get the game to work but unfortunatly i've had no sucess
If anyone could help me out i would be very grateful

You use a boot diskette. Many at http://www.bootdisk.com

There was an unsupported way to add a boot to DOS, but I can't share more than that since it is not without risk.
