MS Config/Start-Up/MP3 player "program~1\open fo~\sixthmetabyte

by barryinstl / March 24, 2004 7:18 AM PST

Anybody know what this is? I've unchecked it several times to stop it from running at Start-Up, but it keeps putting itself back! Does it conflict with anything? Does it use a lot of system resources? I'm running WIN ME, P-IV, 235Mb RAM, 30 GB Hardrvive.
Thanks, Barry

Thanks for the reply! I ran SPYBOT, cleaned it out and it returned--Don't know where my kids are going to get this. I downloaded the STARTUP Tool program you suggested--that looks extra-ordinary. Thank you. I'll keep on posting if the problem continues.

I'd suggest you check with your kids and find out more about the program. The computers I see with the most spyware, parasites and other problems are ones used by teenagers.
