MS and Hotmail.

Yesterday I entered the hotmail site to find that I could not open old or new messages. Having read the lead message here it seems that MS is abandoning Hotmail (must have deleted their warning.) So, not being an expert, could any one tell me what to do now. (step by step and in great detail)

A) How do I rid myself of the Hotmail/MS connection.
b) How do I set up another way of accessing Hotmail, using the same address and password.

Thanks to everyone who helps

I still have a hotmail.com

email address. Hotmail now uses Windows LKive, like Glenn mentioned. The will no longer support using Outlook Express with your hotmail account. Accounts are still active. I've never been told otherwise. I don't use the hotmail account often, just for Microsoft notifications and when I used to use MSN Messenger.

Try another browser...

In reply to: MS and Hotmail.

Hotmail was re-branded "Windows Live Hotmail" last year to coincide with the massive overhaul of the webmail interface. However, Hotmail has not been, and will not be, abandoned by Microsoft. Most likely it's just a browser glicth, so try logging in using another browser or another computer.

As to your two questions:
A.) You can simply stop using Hotmail and all other Microsoft software and services.
B.) You can try another computer, or set up Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail as an e-mail client instead of using the webmail interface.

Hope this helps,
John
