MPlayer OSX Not Working on Intel Core i7 Macs

Jan 5, 2011 10:11AM PST

I have an Intel Core i7 Mac and I find that my MPlayer OSX extended Rev 13 does not work properly on my computer. The fullscreen function doesn't work (nothing happens at all when I double click the screen). Do any other Intel Core i7 Mac owners experience this same problem as well? What could be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks! However, why does the rev13 not work on my computer? Did you experience the same problem with yours as well? How did you know this would work?

Does it matter why it doesn't work

just accept the fact that it doesn't and move on.

Kevin is a whizz at this stuff.

Kind of...

Or not really I guess. This is to mostly satisfy my curiosity as well as let me know if there is actually something wrong with my computer. If the MPlayer simply isn't compatible with the new intel i7's then that is something I simply can't fix. But if there is something not functioning correctly in my computer, I would certainly like to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!

I doubt there is anything wrong with your computer

have you noticed any functional or GUI changes in the version you are now using as compared with the version you were using?

After all, there has to have been a reason for the newer version. Perhaps not running on all i7 Macs was part of the reason.

Maybe your problem was not hardware but software related. I have a program that I have since updated that absolutely refused to run if I had 1Password installed. Nothing wrong with my machine. The program would run if I uninstalled 1Password.

Strange how some things behave when put together. Kinda like kids! Happy

Now if I can just translate being a whizz to making a lot of money, but my friends think all help is free. Cool
