mpio fy400 can't play more than one song at a time!
Dec 30, 2004 11:20AM PST

I recently purchased the mpio fy400 and yes it has all of the features that you mentioned but I can't get it to play more than one song at a time, sequentially or randomly, even after choosing RANDOM play from the playback options. Does anyone know if there is a secret to getting this to play more than one song at a time without popping out to the directory? I had the same problem with the fl300, so I returned it for the fy400. I exhausted the resources on the mpio web site and have contacted tech support without any response! Can anyone help?!

I own an mpio...

I got a 256mb FL100. It's pretty good and looks cool too. It's made of brushed aluminium on bottom and has mirror finish on top. Plus it's expandable through SD card and a cool jog wheel. I actually prefer it over my 1.5gb Creative Muvo2 (which I now gave to my brother). However, the mpio software is terrible, it always freezes and hangs (until you get the manager update off their website). The mirror finish attracts fingerprints no doubt, but there is an identical unit by Virgin Electronics with brushed aluminium on top...

check playback setting

Hi
I think your player is set on directory normal. you have to change it to just normal.
to do that press the toggle, when the menu shows up, move the toggle to the right till you get to repeat.
Then press the toggle again. Here make sure you change it from directory mode to regular setting.
Remember all the top row options are regular. The bottom row options are directory.

I just got mine - 2 days ago, and I think it just locks all buttons so you can work-out etc.

OHHHHHH

Thanks a lot, your answer has saved me a lot of frustration because the player kept shutting off at the gym or when in my pocket (only happens when using with the cover because i guess the cover accidentally presses the off button). now that you told me its use, i love my fy400 even more.

Hold button
Nov 6, 2005 8:25AM PST

The hold button is actually one of the best things on the HD300. I love it and use it all the time.
What it does is, when you flip the hold switch, it prevents you from accidentally bumping a button, or hitting the volume, for example, so that you don't blast your eardrums.
It will not allow you to do anything-shut it off, turn it on, change the song, listen to the radio, etc, while you have the hold enabled.

It's especially helpful for when you'r traveling, or moving and listening, because you can't mess up what you're doing, like change your song or pause it.

Hope that helps. Happy

fy400 retractable usb
Jan 14, 2005 1:42AM PST

Hi, I recently received the fy400 and the first thing I did was slide the usb port out. Now I can't get it back in. Is there some kind of release button for it? I looked in all the documentation and even contacted customer service to no avail. Anyone know how to retract it?

Thanks

Jaime

try this
Jan 18, 2005 9:47AM PST

Hi,
If you still havent returned the player, try this. Press down on the release slider before moving it left or right (depending how you are holding it, if you are holding it upright (use the letters to know which side is upright, then it is right to left)to retract the usb plug. Do the same thing if you what to slide out the usb, its easier.

I had the FG100 in my hand and it looked very fragile with cheap plastics

and the FY400 doesn't look much stronger....
