MPEG to VCD?

Apr 4, 2005 9:38AM PDT

I am trying to get an MPG file to play on my DVD player in the living room. My first n00b notion was to copy the file straight onto a CD using EZ CD creator (I don't have a DVD burner on my machine) - but that would not play. I have played VCD's on this DVD player before (it is an about three year old home theater in a box Panasonic)so I know that will work but I don't see any guides on how to convert MPG to VCD. I don't know what version of MPEG file this is either - I can't even find any info on how to determine that. This file is video from my brother in Saudi Arabia so he is kind of hard to get in touch with.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2. A demo of version 3 is at http://ulead.com for you to look over.

I'm sure you can craft some VCD by hand with such, but I did that once and will not offer such to others.

Not the way

to create a VCD from any MPG file. A VCD has to be in a specific format. Adaptec offers an option of making a VCD called "Video CD Creator".
Start -> Programs -> Adaptec ..... -> Features -> Video CD Creator. Simply add the mpg file (it will convert it to MPEG1 format if its not already so) and burn.

Hope this helps
