Mp3 Sound Docks

Dec 2, 2008 6:21AM PST

I am a newbie to the Mp3 world. Are all sound dock/chargers made to fit Ipods only. I want to buy a non ipod mp3 and be able to sit it in a sound dock to listen to and charge without wires. Are there any on the market to fit Sansa Fuze or Vreative Zen Mp3's?

Yes, most dock/charger combinations are specifically for the iPod. They usually can connect with non-iPods through the aux input, but that requires a cable and doesn't charge.

Try the player manuafacturer's website to see if there is something available, so you'll know for sure that they are compatible. Then you can look elsewhere to see if you can get a better price.

For the SanDisk Sansa Fuze:

The docking station that Bob linked to on Amazon should work, since the Fuze has the same proprietary connector. You'll still need to connect it to a speaker.

The Creative Zen doesn't appear to have anything available for it.
