MP3 Players

by Mel_Sims415 / November 23, 2005 6:03 AM PST

I hope someone can help me. My daughter wants a mp3 player, but I am not sure which one to buy. I have heard that I need to buy a Samsung YEPP YP-T7, but I can't find one. I found a Samsung YP-T8Z and YP-T8X. I have read so many reviews and frankly I am more than a bit confused. She wants one with FLASH. She want to be able to take music from her pc and also have the option to download (preferrably) from a variety of music websites. She wants it to be a to hold 500 at the least, but hopefully more, maybe a 1,000 or 2,000 at the max. She (DOES NOT) care if it has FM or if it will do Photos. She is just intereted in the music part. I have also heard alot about the ipods but that you can only download from 1 website and you can't download from the pc at all. I am hoping to not spend over $250., but I want to get a good one. If anyone can help I would sure appreciate it!

I meant to say a YEPP YP-T7X or YEPP YP-T7Z and a new one YP-T8.

The cowon iaudio g3 seems to be a good choice, with good-quality music, a replacable battery with a long life (37 hrs.), subscription-based (aka napster, yahoo music, etc.) music support. It can also be used as a storage device and is flash-based. The 1-gigabyte version is around $130 and the 2-gigabyte, which is kind of hard to find, is about $200. But I'm just looking for a player, too, so this isn't a review or anything. I'm not sure if the samsungs can be used as storage devices, but the -t7 uses a removable li-on battery and the -t8 uses an internal one, I think. AA's or AAA's are better, aren't they? Just get rechargable ones and that's that!

Gerry_W,
Thank you for the help. I have been researching for over a month now and am getting desperate. Just want to get a good quality player at a reasonable price. Anyway, thank you for replying. Happy

I've also been researching for the same type of thing, and this is the conclusion I came to. Would it diminish your thanks if you found out I was 13? That's the real question.
