MP3 player makes WMP freeze

Aug 29, 2009 12:42AM PDT

Hello,I'm new on here but have a problem regarding my MP3 player and Windows media player.Whenever I try to sync tracks from WMP to my MP3 player,WMP freezes. As soon as I disconnect the MP3 player from the USB socket,WMP is fine again.I don't get it,because there never used to be a problem Sad I'd really appreciate some advice?

Thank you.

PS I'm using windows XP service pack 3 and the MP3 player is a Goodmans 2GB

two thoughts
Aug 29, 2009 3:43AM PDT

1) Is the player's connection settings on MSC (removable drive) or MTP (media device)- the latter is correct for syncing.

2) Are other USB devices working -- if not check drivers for motherboard.

The connection for the MP3 player is MTP.I'm not sure whether the drivers work tho.How do I check and if they aren't working,is there anywhere I can download them?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Which drivers?

If USB drivers they should be on the motherboard manufacturer's site (or laptop maker's).

Drivers for Goodmans player -- try Googling it ?

If the player allows you to select MSC (to use it as removable drive)I would test it in that mode -- and frankly, I'd stick with that as it has always seemed a simpler and better approach.
