Okay Boysss and girlz.
I only used 1 File Sharing Program, (Shareaza) and that was about
2 years ago.
LOVED IT. Easy, and everything thing I ever needed as far as options,
ease of use, and when I needed help, it wasn't a big deal to get it,
But now I read over at DOWNLOADS.COM, The latest versions aren't so
kind.
I'm an older fella sort of, at 43 Happy
I have fixed a few friends computers due to virii/spyware and such,
Ofcourse most are not every smart about keeping aware and scanning
and all that, but they have had Limewire and Bearshare, mostly
Limewire. I also hear alot of people use Emule, or Edonkey,
I have read review after review from Cnet Editors and you and me.
So I thought I would come oever here and see if I might get some
better info, as of late tehre seems to be quite a few people who
really sound like they have no clue.
So who likes what and why ?

I can only give you

what all the Mods, and many of the other regular members here say.

Don't use P2P!

Whilst they might be useful for those 'few' legal downloads that are not available anywhere else, (I can't think of any), there are too many horror stories about the effect of the viruses and trojans that come bundled with many of the downloads.

Why would artists offer mp3's or why would anyone else offer other files on P2P that are not available elsewhere? So I take the general view that I suspect every file available through P2P, and I don't touch them.

So far, bad news.

I can't count how many messed up machines I run into that were done in by P2P, either the P2P or what they downloaded. Maybe I shouldn't write badly about it since it does fuel a lot of the repair and service industry.
