Update: I fixed the WMP problem by changing the output source from Default to my actual sound card. Now, my main problem is that iTunes and Quicktime distort MP3's beyond recognition. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.
After getting infected with spyware (and killing it with AVG), I have been having audio issues. No audio will play in WM10 (video is fine though). Additionally, when I play an MP3 file in iTunes/Quicktime, the sound is distorted beyond recognition (oddly enough, the MP3's work in RealPlayer and iTunes plays aac/m4a files fine). I am guessing I have some sort of codec problem or soundcard issue. I tried the DMA-reverts-to-PIO fix (http://winhlp.com/node/10) with no success. Additionally, I installed the K-Lite audio codec pack, which produced no results. I do not know where to go from here. I have tirelessly searched these forums and Google for the past couple of days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am running Windows XP Professional on a Dell M65 laptop.
Thanks a lot!
