MP3 Car connections

Jul 12, 2007 3:39PM PDT

OK so i have a MP3 player. I have a car aux jack to plug it into. But when i play my Music from the MP3 player through the car it sounds horrible. I can hear the background music great and the vocals sound like the singer is a mile down a tunnel. What can i do to fix this?

Signal Out Of Phase?

When the music sounds fine but the vocals sound drowned out, that usually indicates a speaker is wired incorrectly (positive and negative leads reversed). But if your car's radio or CD player sounds fine, then it could be your MP3 player's connection. Could you give a little more info about it? Sounds like the aux jack or cable could be the problem.

Yeah the stereo sounds fine and the cd player as well. what info do you need? It takes the same kind of cord i would use for headphones. I tried in my in-laws car with the same results.

Problem With Connector?

It sounds like this might be a problem with your cable. Did you purchase this cable ready-made, or did you have to put one together yourself? Are you using a line-out jack from the MP3 player, or the headphone jack? How is it connected to the car radio's aux input (e.g., 3.5mm input, RCA jacks)? Have you tried a different MP3 player with the same cable? What MP3 player do you have?

I know that's a lot of questions, just trying to get as much info as possible. Maybe you could try a different cable too.
