Mozilla Thunderbird question

Sep 27, 2005 11:06PM PDT

At work, I use Windows 2000 NT and Outlook 2000.

At home I use Windows ME and Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.6

In Outlook I can set it to delete the messages automatically after a set number of days (30)

Can I set Mozilla Thunderbird to automatically delete messages after a set number of days also?(45)

First answer: I suggest you upgrade to the latest vers
of thunderbird which is 1.0.7 they have fixed some security issues that were known to be in the vers 1.0.6

Second answer: Yes it is possible to automatically delete
messages after a certain period of days to do so load up
thunderbird click on tools -> account settings -> disk space -> on where it says To recover disk space, old messages can be permanently deleted -> click on delete messages more than 30 days old set the number to whatever you would like it to be at

Hope this helped

I have
Oct 3, 2005 5:37PM PDT

I have just installed Thunderbird 1.0.7

I clicked on tools

Account settings

disk space

and all I get is

to save disk space, do not download:
messages larger than kb

However if I click on trash folder

Customize

Message view name (clean)

Match any of the following

Date

is before

choose date 9/2/2005

click ok

Then click view and clean
then select all
then delete
It will delete all my messages that are past 30 days.

Next time I use this I will edit it and change the date.

I'm glad you responded. I stumbled upon it on my own.

I hope this helps someone else.
