Mozilla Firefox just stopped connecting

Aug 26, 2005 11:29PM PDT

After one year of flawless performance, Firefox no longer finds the server. I keep getting a NOT FOUND page. Does any one have this problem?
http://texturizer.net/firefox/news.html This is the web address. The following notation about the server also appears: Apache/2.0.46 (Red Hat) Server at texturizer.net Port 80 Help! I'm using IE.

Same with me (in IE).

It seems to me the page or the server it resides on is temporarily, or possibly permanently, out of order. So you'd better contact the webmaster to inquire what's wrong.

Lost Firefox
Aug 29, 2005 12:56PM PDT

Mark, I also lost Firefox along with Adelphia at the same time Sunday evening
Weird!
I lost Adelphia until 7am Mon. Aug 29.
Oooooppppps, then they went out again at 10pm Aug. 29. Not only their so-called high speed internet connection, but also my digital TV. Got the service back at 10:30pm.
Really nice company. The very first day of hook-up, the installers could mot get me hooked up since the system was down. Nice sales promotion don't you think?

Anyone out there have problems with Adelphia?
Should I stay with AOL for the time being until Time Warner/AOL/Comcast/Adelphia takes over? How good is Comcast?
Or should I not ask?

It's what I use...
Sep 4, 2005 5:08AM PDT

Just right-click the ad and select ''Adblock image.'' Then, to remove the large chunk of white space, right-click it and select ''Adblock iFrame.'' In the case of the iVillage ads, they are created with Macromedia Flash, so they can't be blocked with ''Adblock image.'' Normally I'd recommend Flashblock, but I've been experiencing problems with it crashing Firefox since 1.0.6 was released, so I'm waiting for a new release to ensure compatibility. The good news is that if you used the ''adblock iFrame'' previously, and reduced the url down to the basic domain, it will remove almost all ads served by that adserver automatically, including iVillage. Gotta love Firefox and its extensions!

Oh yeah!
Aug 30, 2005 5:02AM PDT

The federal government and the Securities and Exchange Commission loves John Rigas and his sons, shareholders love Adelphia, and even Adelphia loves Adelphia. PlanetFeedback is currently under construction, but when it comes back up you'll be able to see how much the customers absolutely love Adelphia...right to the grave. Basically, your not alone...you're in the company of thousands, if not millions, of others who share your love for Adelphia.

I've had both Time Warner and Comcast and never had any major problems, though Comcast seemed to offer slightly better service. Until they're finally bought out I'd stick with Adelphia and make the call every time their service goes down. They may not like it, but daily phone calls concerning refunds will catch their attention just long enough to temporarilly fix the problem.

Good Luck!
John

Oh yeah! Again tonight?
Sep 2, 2005 4:10PM PDT

John, You were right about Adelphia. Same thing tonight. Could be a problem with Safari and certain ISP groups?
One thing I did do was to re-boot my Mac computer. After losing the connection last evening I tried tonight to go back to Safari and Adelphia. Adelphia server cannot be found.
Concidering I am used to this crap, I simply rebooted my computer.
Everything works at this time.
Wonder when was the last time that anyone rebuilt their desktop???
On startup, hold down the Apple key and option key together, you will get a prompt nessage: Do you really want to rebuild your desktop?
Click OK. What happens is similar to having an oil change with your automobile. Kinds of cleans eveything up without going through an engine rebuild sort of thing.
Works with the PC also.

John, your thoughts rebuilding the desktop with a PC? Same thing? I also have a PC. Every once in a while I receive a Sharp painful sound. Sounds like OOOOOOHHHHH! Perforned an illigal opperation!
Rebuilt ny desktop on my Pc three months ago. No new sounds and my PC is working well.

Isn't it wonderful, no matter what platform we have, we have an oil change available at any time!
Price of oil today? Expensive.
Price of knowledge on the CNET? Cheap!

I like

http://www.adelphiaseafood.com/

it tastes good.

Some people at work use Comcast. The one problem my one friend had was someone tried to get into his computer. He has a button on it to put on stand by and he didn't do it. He does now.

What are you looking for?

speed?

DSL?

I currnetly use CompuServe and connect at 31200 with a 56k modem. No comment

I live in Comcast territory but it's expensive

Was thinking of Verizon DSL (my wife would like it off the credit card and on a seperate bill)

I also connected with FREE netzero. FREE connection speed was better than CompuServe. Can you beleive that?

Was also thinking of http://www.dejazzd.com/ still making up my mind.

I will be leaving Compuserve in the near future and looking elsewhere. I am leaning towards DSL

Re-boot
Sep 9, 2005 2:38PM PDT

When in doubt, re-boot!
Did that again and today when I went to Mozilla, was on within ten seconds. Yesterday was about a half an hour.
Normally, I shut my Mac G4, OSX system down every evening. For the last three weeks I have a trial version of Adelphia HSI. Have left my Mac on constantly.
Maybe that's where the problem comes from.
Maybe we should do a re-boot on a weekly basis or shut down every night?
When has anyone done a desktop rebuild?
That works also. An oil job, versus a complete engine rebuild.

Norton/Symantic might work also to get rid of the rust in your system?yet, that is another forum.
