General discussion

Mozilla/Firefox is excellent!. Much better than IE...

in fact I'd say it's light years ahead of Internet Explorer. M/F shows that Microsoft doesn't know what they are doing. Of course it's all about the greenback with Microsoft, though.

Mozilla/Firefox 1.5 never gives me any trouble at all. The only time I have any trouble is with the extensions. You really have to be careful when using extensions. M/F's browsing speed is probably double what IE is. The configuration options blow IE away also.

If anybody is thinking about switching over to Mozilla/Firefox from Internet Explorer, do it. It's well worth it! Excellent, excellent, excellent! Happy

It's a tab browser that allows a person to have many many pages open at once, all readily viewable. At least that's what I understood from Bob, anyway. he could best explain it. The expert that he is. Happy

SeaMonkey...

A long time time ago far, far away Mozilla's baby was the Mozilla Suite, a package deal consisting of a web browser, e-mail composer, IRC chat client, and HTML editor. It had a loyal following of sers, but the browser was too 'heavy' (large download and bulky interface) and a bit too complicated for the average user. That prompted the development of Firefox, which is basically a trimmed-down and more appealing version of the browser in the Mozilla Suite. It's now the browser we all know and love. With the focus on Firefox, the Mozilla team decided to put Mozilla Suite on the back burner with no future updates planned.

Late last year, however, a small group of people got together and brought new life to Mozilla Suite, continuing its development under the name SeaMonkey. (Named for the group of developers that called themselves the SeaMonkey Council.) They have impemented several of the changes Firefox has undergone, as well as upgrading it as necessary, starting with the removal of some of the old bugs in Mozilla Suite. It's not really an official project of the Mozilla Foundation, but it is being conducted with Mozilla's blessings and will hopefully live happily ever after under a new trademark.

The End. Happy

Hope this helps,
John

FF is great. It's much faster than IE and it allows you to customize it to your liking more than IE. The fact that I can use tabs is enough for me to switch. I always hated seperate windows, even though the task bar would bundle them together. The number of plug-ins FF has is great. The RSS reader is another great tool. No need to use a seperate aggregator. FF can do it all...now, if you could truly integrate an email solution, that would really kick butt.
