moving MP3 audiobook files

Jan 18, 2009 3:36AM PST

I have downloaded audiobooks from my library on 2 seperate MP3 (both creative zen vision m 30GB) over the last year. Now I am trying to move/organize the files but I am unable. I have tries to send them to an external hard drive and the files move but the security upgrade to play the audiobook is lost. Any suggestions? I am using windows XP.

DRM is at the heart of this but I read your post twice and can't determine where your audiobooks came from. And that is who we ask about this.

audio book difficulties

The audio books are aquired from my local library. With my library card they are checked out and if they are left on my computer the media upgrade allows them to be played for 7 days - I have the option to burn them to CD or transfere to MP3 player where they don't expire. I now have about 300 and am trying to move them to an external drive/new MP3 or other storage site. When I move them the security upgrade invalidates. My library does not know how to change this.

And at this point we have to stop.

I can't help you get around license issues and time limits.

Why didn't you put them on AudioCDs so you can listen or rip them later?

Just download new audio books.

Sucks, but I guess you'll just have to download the audio book again. I suggest http://www.emusic.com/audiobooks/index.html cuz you get a free audio book when you sign up. This is usually where I go to download my audio books. But there are other places that are pretty good too.
