I'd do it this way:
1. Install Eudora on the new PC using the same (if possible) installer program.
2. Run it and see where it puts al its user files.
3. Copy the user files from the old PC over the corresponding files on the new PC.
4. Run it again and see the result.

My ISP provides a free email account, with a dismal interface. So, some years ago I installed Eudora 7.1.0.9 on my old Dell, which is just about ready for PC heaven. It is running on XP Pro v2, which as as high as that PC will go. I download the ISP webmail to the Dell.
The installer back then put everything into Qualcomm/Eudora under program files, but did not put anything under the Documents and Settings/username/application data directory, which the documentation says is where some of the files, like the eudora.ini file and mailboxes, belong.
I copied everything under that Qualcomm/Eudora folder onto a portable hard drive.
I downloaded the Eudora 7.1.0.9 installer onto my HP Pavilion, which has XP pro v3, and all patches.
So here is the question: If I copy the Qualcomm/Eudora folder onto the HP, how will the install program react to the eudora.ini file and mailboxes being in the "wrong" folder? I already know from a trial install on the HP that it wants to create the application data folder. (I have uninstalled Eudora from the HP based on advice I saw on a forum, hoping to reinstall after all the files from the old PC are transferred over)
I want this to be a clean install with no big problems that have to be unwound. I have a large attach file with old emails, and want to keep it.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
