Less than 50 percent of the time the RAID has to be rebuilt on the new system. This is why no one can offer you any assurances.
i have a question and hopefully i can find some info on this. i have been all over the net looking and cant seem to find a definitive answer to my question.
i currently have a working raid0 array consisting of 2 74gig raptors but my motherboard decided to quit on me, so i have purchased a new computer (has the same controller as my old motherboard, silicon image) and would like to be able to retrieve the data from the drives for my new system (favs, digital cam pics, game saves etc.).is this possible without using expensive recovery services? would a raid enclosure work as well without having to reformat? any help would be great. thanks everyone.
