Movie transfer problem

Aug 1, 2011 8:33PM PDT

I'm trying to transfer old VHS children's movies to DVD. I'm using a Canopus ADVC110 to capture and transfer to my Mac. The movie transfers fine except the color is off. The picture looks very red and as if there is some film over it. Some frames all of a sudden are clear and crisp then it returns to how it was before. I've tried to disconnect and reconnect everything several times with not luck. Any suggestions?

New problem

I started importing again to try what you suggested but the movie needed to be rewound to the same place. I continued to import while I rewound the tape. The color is perfect while it's rewinding but then when I pushed play the color was off again. So is it my capture device? I hate to have to spend that kind of money again and I haven't had this one a year.

Are these tapes MACROVISION protected?

The symptom sounds like what happens when the tape is protected.

And if you notice this is hosted by CBS and check the forum policies we can't discuss getting around copy protection.
