Movie files on Microsoft Picture It Publishing 2001 Platinum

Jan 15, 2008 6:28AM PST

I use the above mentioned program when working with my photos. I discovered last night when I clicked on a "movie" help file that nothing happens on any of the movie help files. They don't open.

I re-installed the program. Still same problem.

I use Windows XP.

I've looked at several posts re this program and I'm not getting anywhere.

I'd REALLY appreciate your tip if the solution is really obvious to you.

(NT) It's a "photo" software and not a "video" software, right?

Oh dear ... I hope I'm understanding your question properly.

In the program (it's like Photoshop, that sort of program) ... there are help files. In those help files is a list of "movies" (very short video clips) that I should be able to click on and view for help with a specific task I am trying to do. For instance, I want to add a face to a group picture ... the video clip will show me a little "how to" movie on that subject.

Well, now, when I click on this list nothing happens. No movie opens.

I don't know what is causing the program to fail. The rest of the program is working fine and I am able to alter my photos.

It has been suggested to me that because it is an old program that MS no longer cares about ... that new installations on the computer may be interfering with it.

I'm not computer savvy enough to figure out how to fix it.

The help file might be located on the install disk or supplemental disk. So put that in the cd drive and see what happen. Good luck.
